Float Level Sensors are the most advanced and reliable way of smoothly and accurately determining the level of liquid in a container or a pool. The most commonly used Float Level Sensor is the LLF47HGP which is a combined level sensor and flow meter. The LLF47HGP is a combined level/flow measuring instrument that consists of two parts; a possible rod/float that moves up and down within the body unit and a controller base unit. The LLF47HGP is based on buoyancy principle which relies on the magnetically coupled float that moves up or down the probe within the body of the sensor. The controller base unit routes signal to the float by using magnetic signals. At the time of installation, the user connects two wires of the controller base unit to the body of the float/rod and it divots the rod from its current position. The rod thereafter moves up or down according to the level of the liquid inside the tank or pool.

The LLF47HGP sensor operates on a principle where a float is attached to the end of the rod which is hinged on a pivoting balance system. The plate is electro-magnetically held in equilibrium and actuates the float up and down as the liquid height increases or decreases. When the liquid is at a particular level, the magnet will lose its equilibrium and cause the rod to move up or down but the plate is held back, thus forming a tipping point. The displacement of the rod is transmitted to an electric contact switch located on the mounting board and actuates a circuit.
