It is a direct successor to the industry-standard LM158A family, with a wider bandwidth and higher performance than earlier generations.The LM258DMR2G is a differential Low-Noise Input Operational Amplifier (LNOPA) designed for signal processing and signal amplification, due to its low 1/f noise and low signal-offset drift. It is suitable for applications such as signal conditioning, signal generation, signal conversion and signal transfer.The basic principle for the LM258DMR2G is that it amplifies the difference in the voltages between its two input terminals and then passes the result through its output terminal. The output voltage is determined by the input voltages, the closed-loop gain (the amount of amplification) and the load resistance.The LM258s have a wide supply voltage range, from 2.5 V to 56 V, with a maximum gain of up to 200. It also features rail-to-rail inputs and outputs, meaning its operating voltage range extends from the negative supply voltage to the positive supply voltage. This makes the LM258s especially well suited for applications in which low power dissipation is required.The LM258DMR2G has a slew rate of 1 V/µs, which means it is capable of responding to high-frequency signals quickly.
