LM3263TME/NOPB Application Field and Working PrincipleLM3263TME/NOPB is a special purpose voltage regulator from Texas Instruments. The product is an integrated high-voltage, low-current Switch Mode Power Controller and Regulator specifically designed for commercial and industrial applications. It is ideal for applications such as electric vehicles, solar energy, white goods, and industrial heavy machinery. This device also has the ability to source or sink current, allowing it to be used in applications such as driving motors and uninterruptible power supplies. This high-efficiency voltage regulator has a wide input voltage range and can operate up to a maximum voltage VD of 142V.This special purpose voltage regulator features a sophisticated control scheme that automates the current and voltage regulation loop. It has a fixed frequency, current-mode control loop with line and load regulation, overcurrent protection, and thermal shutdown features. This control loop also incorporates a fault interrupt input, which can be used to signify a fault condition and will cause the device to either shut down or otherwise limit the load current depending on the status of this input pin.The LM3263TME/NOPB device needs separate N-channel MOSFETs for output device power connection. The output current is sensed through an embedded current-sense circuit. This voltage regulator can handle up to a maximum continuous output current of 5A and it comes with an integrated overcurrent protection feature which will reduce the output current when it reaches a certain level. The device features a soft-start capability which helps to limit inrush current during power up.The device provides two output voltage settings - the low voltage setting is set by the voltage across the sense resistor and the high voltage setting is determined by the values of the two external resistors. The voltage settings can also be adjusted by external voltage or ground control. The device incorporates an enabling pin which allows the voltage regulator to be shut down by an external signal.The LM3263TME/NOPB device has an excellent power efficiency with an operating range of up to 90% and an enable input which allows for quick enable and disable of the device. It operates over temperature range of -40° to 125° C and has low EMI and low RFI capabilities. It also comes with a variety of protection features such as overcurrent, overvoltage and overtemperature protection. This device also offers an adjustable deadtime feature that allows the user to set the transition time between the low and high setting of the output voltage. This will enable the user to set a deadtime to ensure that the output voltage does not overshoot the target voltage during load transitions.Overall, the LM3263TME/NOPB is an excellent voltage regulator designed for a variety of industrial and commercial applications. It features an integrated high-voltage, low-current switch mode power controller and regulator and offers excellent features such as overcurrent protection and adjustable deadtime. It has an excellent power efficiency and low EMI/RFI capabilities.
