LM3208URX/NOPB is a special purpose voltage regulator integrated circuit (IC) developed by Texas Instruments. It is a two-phase synchronous buck converter providing up to 12 A of continuous current with high-efficiency, fast transient response and excellent line and load regulation. The LM3208URX/NOPB is suitable for both stand-alone and synchronous rectification buck converters. This device features a low RDS(on) integrated power MOSFET, integrated compensation and a wide input voltage range (4.5 V to 42 V). Its operating frequency can be between 200 kHz and 2.2 MHz.The pinout of the LM3208URX/NOPB is as follows: VDD, VIN, VOUT, EN/SYNC, GATE,PH, PHN, SHDN, FAULT, PGND,PWRGD, FLT, PGND, and DRAIN. VDD is the device supply rail. VIN is the main input voltage for the regulator. VOUT is the output voltage set by the regulator. EN/SYNC is the logic input used to enable the device and synchronize the regulator to an external oscillator. GATE is the control output used to drive the power MOSFET. PH and PHN are the high and low inputs for driving the power MOSFET’s gate. SHDN is the logic shut down signal to the regulator when pulled low. FAULT is the logic signal that indicates signal output conditions such as over-current, under-voltage or over-voltage. PGND is the power ground. PWRGD is the logic signal to indicate when the output is within regulation. FLT is the fault detect signal that can be sourced or sinked. DRAIN is the input of power MOSFET.The LM3208URX/NOPB is a high performance, two-phase buck regulator providing fast transient response and excellent line and load regulations. It includes a low RDS(on) integrated power MOSFET, integrated compensation, and wide 4.5 V to 42 V operating voltage range. The programmable operating frequency and PWM dimming capability supports all type of switching applications, while the phase spread frequency facilitates excellent EMI performance. The on-chip analog current limit and thermal regulation prevent device failures due to over-current and/or overheating. Its simple design, high current capability and software control flexibility make the LM3208URX/NOPB a very suitable voltage regulator for applications such as battery charging, laptop power supplies, and motor control.
