LM393APSR is an analog comparison integrated circuit consisting of two independent voltage comparators for use in electronic devices and circuit designs. This particular type is a member of the LM393 family of comparators, which includes various features and functions. The LM393APSR can be used to compare two input voltage levels from -2V to +2V, and to detect and reject any out-of-spec signals.When two input voltages are different from each other, the LM393APSR produces either an open or a closed output. If the input voltage is lower than the reference voltage, the output will be open and the internal circuit will remain inactive. If the input voltage exceeds the reference voltage, the output will be closed and the internal circuit will be energized. The LM393APSR has many potential application fields. For example, they can be used in instrumentation equipment, data acquisition systems, automotive and medical electronics, audio/video applications, measurement and control systems, motor control systems, power supplies, safety systems, transient detectors and motion control. In these applications, the LM393APSR can be used to compare signals and get either a high/low output signal, or an on/off signal.In addition to its application field, the LM393APSR features various aspects regarding its working principle. In linear mode, the output amplitude is proportional to the input difference, with positive polarity for positive input differences and negative polarity for negative input differences. In comparison mode, the LM393APSR acts as a digital comparator, providing either a positive or a negative output when the input voltages are below or above a certain user-defined threshold. The LM393APSR also features low noise characteristics, low power consumption and very low input bias current. This makes it suitable for use in battery powered devices and systems where low-power consumption components are required. Furthermore, the device is immune to noise and stable over a wide temperature range, making it well suited for a variety of environments and applications.Moreover, the LM393APSR has excellent pulse handling capability, with an edge rate of 30mA/µs.
