LM48580TL/NOPB is an audio amplifier module in the Linear - Amplifiers - Audio family. It is a low voltage stereo audio power amplifier that is optimized to drive 8 Ω stereo speakers. The module features an integrated Class D audio amplifier in a low-voltage QFN package and a low-noise bias control system for a neat, clean and efficient design. LM48580TL/NOPB is designed to operate over a wide power supply range of +1.8 V to +20 V and can deliver up to 40 W of total RMS power.

The LM48580TL/NOPB’s integrated Class D audio amplifier has thermal and current limitations to protect it from damage during normal operation. Thermal protection is provided by an integrated thermal warning signal, with a warning signal being delivered after the die temperature reaches 85oC. The integrated current limitation prevents the speaker output current from exceeding a pre-set 0.7 A limit, and will shut down the amplifier if the current exceeds the limit.
