The LM536033EVM is an application field and working principal evaluation board for DC/DC and AC/DC (Off-line) switching mode power supplies (SMPS). It relies on an LM536060 switching controller, which combines an integrated 700V power MOSFET with Single-Chip PFM and PWM control, to accurately control output voltage and current in both Flyback and Buck/Boost configurations. The LM536060 Controller provides versatile, optimized, timing-based control of a wide variety of power components, from standard components such as Power Integrations’ TOPSwitch family, to (high voltage) custom modules, including Vicor’s BCM bus converters and Power Integrations’ Cool-SET™-F3 family.

The LM536033EVM utilizes a comprehensive 12-bit analog subsystem along with the on-chip precision comparator, temperature sensor, ADC, DACs, temperature sensor, on-chip programmable oscillator, and SVR controller for full analog monitoring and control of the output voltage and current. This allows the user to precisely monitor and control input, output, and internal voltages or temperatures. With these advanced tools, the user can optimize the performance of the power supply by monitoring and adjusting the secondary voltage, current, power, and efficiency, and optimizing the waveform quality and other parameters.
