The LMK62E2-156M25EVM is a mixed signal evaluation and demonstration board which combines the LMK62E2, an octal, low power differential clock generator and the LMK25EVM, a low jitter 25 MHz oscillator evaluation module. This board allows developers and engineers to evaluate up to 8 channels of low power differential clock output from the LMK62E2, or a single 25 MHz clock generated from the LMK25EVM.

The LMK62E2-156M25EVM has a wide range of applications. It can be used to generate low jitter differential clocks for servers, datacom, consumer or industrial applications. It is also ideal for testing high performance multichannel systems such as communications, high speed memory systems, and motor control applications. With its combination of low power and low jitter, the LMK62E2-156M25EVM is well suited for testers, engineers, and design clinics.

The board’s operation is based on the working principle of the LMK62E2 which supports up to 8 channels of differential clock generator and the LMK25EVM which is a low jitter 25 MHz oscillator. The LMK62E2 Gen 2 is a fixed-frequency, low power differential clock generator that supports output frequencies from 27.5 to 300MHz at 1.15V (for the 156-182MHz group). The frequency of each output can be adjusted in 0.0125MHz (down to 0.00625MHz) steps, while the output swing can be adjusted from 2 to 10mVpp.

The LMK25EVM is a low jitter 1.8V, single-ended, 25MHz oscillator with a positive 14.5MHz Output (FSM). The jitter of the LMK25EVM is rated low at 0.7ps at 1μΩ, 0.051ps at 10KΩ, and 4.9ps at 100KΩ. The output frequency is adjustable in 0.00625MHz steps from 3 to 18MHz, while the output swing can be adjusted up to 460mVpp.

The LMK62E2-156M25EVM also features a wide range of evaluation and testing features. The board is designed to support a variety of test processes such as jitter measurements, eye diagrams, and frequency and duty cycle measurements. The board also includes a precision signal measured output and adjustable voltage power supply output for signal verification. The evaluation board also offers a temperature range of -40 to +85°C.
