Working Principle
The LN05201P works on the principle of electroluminescence. In electroluminescence, visible light is produced when electrons pass through a thin phosphorescent or fluorescent semiconductor material. This process creates light from electrical power instead of from heat energy as with incandescent bulbs. When electricity is applied to the LED, electrons become excited and move toward the P-type layer of the semiconductor which is coated with a phosphorous material, causing the electrons to emit a photon of light.
The LN05201P utilizes a unique construction that enhances its light output while utilizing minimal power. It consists of a thin layer of phosphor that is sandwiched between a highly reflective positive and a negative reflecting mirror. This construction allows the LED to positively reflect all light created by the direct current forward, making it extremely efficient and bright.
