Application Field

Working Principle

Essentially, the LP061F23CDT crystal operates by the mechanical resonance of a quartz crystal, when an oscillating electrical field is applied to it. When this voltage is applied, the quartz crystal vibrates and produces a mechanical wave at its natural frequency. This wave is then converted back into an electrical wave, which can be used by the circuit as a clock or timing reference and/or is used to control and regulate the speed of oscillation in the circuit.

In series mode, the oscillation frequency and amplitude of the quartz are determined by the load capacitance, the damping resistor, and the capacitance of the quartz itself. In parallel mode, the electrical signal applied to the quartz divides itself between the quartz and the load capacitance. This division of signal affects the frequency and amplitude of the oscillation.
