Working Principle

LP130F23CET is based on the principle of a liquid crystal oscillator. This device is made up of two parts: a temperature compensation device and a voltage measurement device. The temperature compensation device consists of an inside glass sealed container and an outside isolation container which is filled with liquid crystal material. The liquid crystal material has a characteristic that its viscosity changes with the change of temperature. This change of viscosity will bring about a corresponding change in the capacitance within the liquid crystal material. The voltage measurement device detects the change in capacitance and inputs this information into the voltage applied to the crystal material. As the capacitance changes, the frequency of the crystal oscillator output also changes accordingly. The whole crystal system is monitored by a microprocessor unit to achieve frequency output without connection to external clock source.
