LP2950ACZ-5.0/LFT1 is a Programmable Micropower Voltage Regulator that simply offers drop-in replacement and superior performance in a wide range of applications.

It is designed to provide the highest level of accuracy combined with the highest current load capabilities and exceptional load and line transients. It is an ideal power source for analog and digital circuits and has superior performance over the standard three-terminal regulator.

The LP2950ACZ-5.0/LFT1 offers extremely low noise and exceptional transient response, making it suitable for low voltage, high current and high efficiency applications. The LP2950ACZ-5.0/LFT1 also features a low quiescent current and an adjustable output current limit. The device can be configured to provide either fixed or adjustable output voltage.

The LP2950ACZ-5.0/LFT1 is designed to provide extremely low noise, high load transient response and fast recovery time. It is rated to provide a maximum output voltage of 5 volts and a maximum output current of 2.5A. The device also has an adjustable output current limit and is designed to provide high efficiency, low power dissipation, and excellent thermal stability.

Working principle:

The LP2950ACZ-5.0/LFT1 voltage regulator provides a regulated output voltage by sensing the input voltage and adjusting the output accordingly. It does so by controlling the amount of current flowing through the regulator. When the output voltage falls below the specified level, the regulator increases the current, thus increasing the output voltage. The reverse happens when the output voltage is above the specified level.
