Working Principle
The heart of an LDO regulator is usually a pair of transistors, which provide controlled amplification to a signal. The LP2981AIM5-3.2/NOPB is no different – it consists of an input transistor and an output transistor. The base of the input transistor is connected to the adjustable output voltage pin. The output of the input transistor is then connected to the base of the output transistor, which has its collector and emitter connected in series with the load.
