Introduction

LP2997MX/NOPB is a type of power management integrated circuit (PMIC) device that is specially designed to provide power solutions for consumer electronics and other high-performance applications. Working Principle

The LP2997MX/NOPB is a highly efficient switching device, a boost/ buck/ invert power module with a linear regulator. The device operates off an input voltage of 1.8V to 4.3V.The LP2997MX/NOPB is a HVIF (High Voltage Interface) device, which applies an external high voltage to the buck inductor, and it is controlled by driving the external PMOS switch. Upon applying electricity to the boost inductor, the PMOS switch is enabled by the HVIF block. This is then followed by the closing of the PMOS switch, and the start of the buck operation. During the buck operation, energy from the input voltage is transferred to the output voltage via the buck inductor.The LP2997MX/NOPB also contains a linear switching regulator with shutdown functionality, which uses a dual synchronous rectifier structure to transfer its input voltage to the output voltage. This synchronous rectifier operates in current mode in order to reduce power losses and to achieve higher output voltage ripple. The main characteristics of the switching regulator are controlled by injecting a control signal.
