The LP3874EMPX-2.5 voltage regulator features a proprietary low-power PMOS pass transistor with a high capability to deliver current, low-dropout voltage, low output noise, and excellent thermal stability and performance.The regulator converts the input voltage, which is greater than the output voltage, to a specific output voltage, depending on the voltage reference built into the control circuitry. When the input voltage rises, the control circuitry reduces the current passing through the pass transistor, thereby reducing the output voltage.The LP3874EMPX-2.5 works on the principle of pass transistor linear regulator, the input voltage is controlled by a regulating CMOS circuit and the output is maintained by an N-channel MOSFET.
