It also has a low operating temperature range (-40°C to +125°C) and an adjustable output voltage from 0.6V to 3.3V. The low quiescent current of 4µA enables long battery life and the integrated thermal shutdown circuit protects against over-temperature conditions.In addition to its excellent performance features, the LP38852T-ADJ linear regulator also offers high efficiency, low EMI, fast transient response and a wide choice of output voltage settings. It also features a wide range of protection features such as current limit protection, over/under voltage lockouts, thermal shutdown protection and pulse-by-pulse current limit protection.The working principle of the LP38852T-ADJ linear regulator is based on an internal current regulator loop. This current regulator loop amplifies the load current sense signal and compares it with a reference voltage. If the load current exceeds the current limit, then the output voltage will be clamped by the current regulation loop.The LP38852T-ADJ can be used in a variety of applications, such as charging and discharging of battery-powered devices, data-acquisition systems, amp/audio amplifiers, switched mode power supplies and as general-purpose low dropout regulators.
