LP8860-Q1EVMs are evaluation boards designed for use with the LP8860-Q1 LED driver. The sub-classification of them is LED drivers. This evaluation board provides a complete solution for evaluating the LP8860-Q1 LED driver and its features. The LP8860-Q1EVMs are used to evaluate, develop and test custom designs based on the LP8860-Q1 LED driver.
LP8860-Q1 is a 1.2A constant-current, 8-channel, step-up LED driver with I2C digital interface for general lighting applications. It consists of 8 channels, each of which can be individually enabled and have its own current limit setting. The chip also includes dimming control as well as global PWM dimming/strobe control. The device can be used to drive LEDs in series, parallel, or combined configurations for small to medium display applications.
LP8860-Q1EVMs contains the LP8860-Q1 LED driver, various interface connectors, temperature and current sense resistors, a power supply connector and a programming cable. This evaluation board allows the user to test the PD8860-Q1 with various power supplies and set up different lighting scenarios. It also provides a power management block that enables simple integration of the device into existing systems.
When evaluating the LP8860-Q1 LED driver with the LP8860-Q1EVMs, the user can access various features of the device such as dimming, PWM dimming control, global LED current setting, temperature sense, LED open/short detection and LED open/short compensation. The board also provides a “Boost Mode Dump Load” function to ensure the system remains stable during high-load conditions.
The LP8860-Q1EVMs also provide the ability to power the LP8860-Q1 LED driver via a low-voltage power supply in applications such as smartphone chargers. Low-Voltage Power Regulation (LVP) provides the ability to power the LP8860-Q1 device with 3V-24V input. It also features a power-save mode and several other features for greater design flexibility.
The LP8860-Q1EVMs can be used to benchmark the performance of the LP8860-Q1 LED driver. It helps to ensure a higher efficiency, consistent performance and greater reliability when operating in the end user’s application.
