The LS1023AXE8MQB is a highly integrated, secure and low-power advanced low-power, 32-bit processor from NXP Semiconductors. It is optimized for high-performance embedded computing applications such as industrial robots, medical imaging, medical diagnostic labs, point-of-sale systems, motor control, computer vision and many more. The LS1023AXE8MQB is based on the ARM Cortex-A53 and Cortex-R5 cores with a 25 MHz reference clock, 8 MB on-chip Flash memory, 512 KB of on-chip SRAM and an integrated multitasking operating system. It is a next-generation processor with a low power profile and a security architecture optimized for embedded designs.
The LS1023AXE8MQB microprocessor incorporates advanced features such as security with 128-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) capability and public key authentication, advanced system control and power management blocks, ARM TrustZone technology, security architecture and virtualization technology. It also supports a wide range of peripherals such as USB 2.0 high-speed device, SATA host and device ports, Ethernet, UART, I2C and SPI.

In the master-slave configuration mode, the Cortex-A53 cores are used as master and slave cores, thus providing a symmetric system configuration. The master-slave configuration mode is used when a higher performance is required in one core or when the total number of cores is large. Both modes use the integrated power, clock and reset control blocks to reduce the system’s power consumption and simplify the system’s thermal management.
