LT1009CMS8#PBF Application Field and Working Principle
PMIC (Power Management Integrated Circuit) is an electronic component that manages physical supply, such as voltage and currents, to other electronic devices. It is a fixed voltage reference integrated on a monolithic silicon chip that provides excellent accuracy and temperature stability under extreme conditions. This voltage reference can be used up to a maximum rating of 100V and withstands peak voltages up to 140V. It has a wide supply current range of 5mA to 1A and a high output current capability of up to +2A. The output voltage is accurately regulated and temperature stabled at band-gap reference voltage temperature coefficient of less than 0.1ppm/ºC.In addition to its high accuracy and temperature stability, the LT1009CMS8#PBF is suitable for operation over wide temperature ranges including below -75°C to above +150°C. It is also immune to transients, protects against reverse voltages and ESD, with an on-chip thermal protection to prevent output voltage overload. The chip is available in SOT-223-4 and SOIC-8 packages.This voltage reference works by generating a precise bandgap voltage reference from the on-chip zener diode which is then amplified and regulated by the internal OP Amp. The output voltage is set using an external resistor connected between the output and the reference pin.The precise and stable output of the LT1009CMS8#PBF is made possible by its integrated circuitry which includes an external amplifier, an on-chip jointed and band-gap voltage stabilizer and a temperature-independent reference. This combined with the integration and precise controlling of the output voltage by a single resistor makes it an ideal solution for demanding power management applications.Overall, the LT1009CMS8#PBF voltage references are a great tool for applications that require precise voltage regulation with an excellent accuracy and temperature stability, regardless of the input.
