Introduction to LT1076HVIR#PBF:The LT1076HVIR#PBF is a DC-DC switching regulator designed and manufactured by Linear Technology. It is specifically designed to provide higher accuracy in wide range of voltage and current output applications. The design incorporates an architecture that simplifies the design of power systems with digital power management. It also provides a high level of accuracy and efficiency in applications with loads up to 30A and output voltages from 5V to 16V.The LT1076HVIR#PBF includes an internal synchronous rectification and offers features such as short circuit protection, over-current protection, input under-voltage protection and over-temperature protection. It also features a Power Good (PG) output. This output is used to indicate proper charging of the power systems battery. The device operates in a two-phase mode with fixed frequency and adjustable on-time. A voltage divider is connected across the output stage to provide the feedback voltage required for the conversion process. A high side MOSFET pulls high an output 0V during “on” times and a low side MOSFET pulls low an output 0V during “off” times. The voltage feedback loop is used to maintain an accurate output voltage.The device has low output ripple, a fast transient response, low input and output noise, and a high operating frequency. Additionally, the LT1076HVIR#PBF features a current limit protection that prevents the device from exceeding the current limit set by the external resistor or the device will short circuit protection. The device also benefits from additional protection features such as over temperature protection, over current protection, and over voltage protection.In addition, the device offers an output Power Good (PG) pin, which can be connected to indicate when the output voltage has stabilized and is ready to be used by the system.
