The LT1241CN8#PBF is designed for use in POL (Point-of-Load) DC-DC switching converters. It is ideal for powering intermediate bus architectures (IBAs), but is also useful for powering other types of loads such as CPUs, FPGAs and ASICs, which require output current up to 3A. Its advanced low-noise circulation control eliminates the need for inductors and other additional components which may increase system cost.The LT1241 provides a dynamic fixed-frequency PWM drive with a highly efficient current mode control scheme. This provides superior transient response and excellent dynamic control. Its unique approach to current mode control also minimizes cross-conduction and high-frequency EMI noise, adds flexibility, and reduces component count.The LT1241 integrates an under voltage lockout (UVLO) feature. Additionally, it includes two additional hysteresis settings, a fast dropout mode (SLEW1/1) to improve efficiency, and a low current mode that can be entered to reduce the output current in light load conditions (<75mV drop on the output voltage) and prevents erroneous oscillations.The LT1241 implements an adjustable current limit, allowing designers to maintain system stability when powering inductive loads. Additionally, it features a built-in synchronous rectifier gate driver. This eliminates the need for an external gate driver, simplifying the design and reducing component count.
