The LT1339CN#PFB is an integrated voltage-mode DC-DC converter with PWM control for step-down conversion. Thedevice has an output voltage that is programmed via an external voltage divider and is compared by an internal voltage reference. The device has a power stage that includes an external high side N-channel MOSFET and an external low side P-channel MOSFET. The device turns on the external high side MOSFET and then turns off the external low side MOSFET, creating a voltage divider across the load. The output voltage is then regulated by controlling the duty cycle.In order to prevent sub-harmonic oscillations, the output voltage of the LT1339CN#PFB is clamped to a level determined by the clamp pin voltage. The voltage applied to the CLAMP pin can be set up to 1.5V higher than the output voltage. This prevents sub-harmonic oscillations caused by output capacitance charging.Conclusion
