 The LT3799EMSE-1#TRPBF is a high performance, low noise Pulse Width Modulation (PWM), DC-to-DC buck converter with integrated LED drivers from Linear Technology. It is a dedicated, highly optimized, low noise, high voltage buck converter designed for driving high output rated LEDs. The LT3799EMSE-1#TRPBF has a wide input voltage range from 2.3V to 48V, a low quiescent current of 2 mA, a wide LED load range from 1mOhms to 20mOhms and optimizes LED brightness accuracy from -3.5% to +7.5%.The LT3799EMSE-1#TRPBF is designed for a wide range of LED application which includes general lighting, automotive lighting, signage lighting, bikes, automotive backlights, strip lights, and flexible light sources. This PWM buck converter integrate an LED driver, optimized soft-start and fast recovery over-thermal protection. This makes the LT3799EMSE-1#TRPBF driver highly reliable in highly demanding applications.The LT3799EMSE-1#TRPBF can operate from a PWM control from 2Hz up to 2MHz, making it suitable for going from low duty cycle control to the highest duty cycle for high brightness output. This buck converter has an extremely linear current curve, making it suited for constant current output applications such as automotive and general lighting. It also supports constant voltage output application.The internal architecture of the LT3799EMSE-1#TRPBF PWM buck converter includes a low-side MOSFET and an integrated 16V/200mA gate driver. The gate driver contains a charge pump, making it immune to noise on the input supply, by filtering out high frequency voltage spike that can be present in automotive systems. The LT3799EMSE-1#TRPBF has an integrated fault alert signal, the LEDERR, which is an open-drain output comparator signal going low when the VFB voltage of the buck converter is outside the defined range. The LT3799EMSE-1#TRPBF integrates two regulated low-side sinks, capable of driving two MOSFETs with >2.7V low-side threshold voltage compatible with N and P channel devices.The LT3799EMSE-1#TRPBF has a wide range of operating temperature from –40°C to +125°C, making it suitable for a wide range of applications. Furthermore, the LT3799EMSE-1#TRPBF has a wide range of adjustable peak current and soft-start time, as well as EMI performance with integrated EMC filter.
