LT3932HUFD#TRPBF is a PMIC - LED Drivers, it is a switching current mode single inductor flyback controller. With the aim of turning into a highly integrated and cost-effective solution, this device has functional features to support the most common two-switch flyback topology power applications. It is designed to run with the minimum external components, which makes the system low cost and easy to use. This device provides high efficiency and power factor operation with an integrated slope compensation feature which improves line and load regulatability. It is also able to keep peak currents in the main switch and PFET when the load transient is large.
The main application of LT3932HUFD#TRPBF is LED driver as well as small isolated power supplies. With LED driver, this device provides high efficiency operation; in average, it has 90% efficiency at loads of 200mA. It also provides multiple protection functions, such as over voltage protection, over current protection, and thermal shutdown. Moreover, LT3932HUFD#TRPBF is suitable for small isolated power supplies. It provides all the features need to implement a small, low cost power supply, allowing low cost and small solution.
The basic working principle of LT3932HUFD#TRPBF is self-sustained switching, which is driven by the internal oscillator. This oscillator is also responsible for providing the slope compensator and the timing structure. With this oscillator, the frequency of operation can be reduced, and thus improve the efficiency. In order to reduce the frequency, the device is designed to operate in switching mode.
