LT4320MPMSE#PBF is a multifunctional Power Management Integrated Circuit (PMIC) – OR Controllers, Ideal Diodes (also known as ORing diodes). This high-efficiency power management IC provides power sequencing and sequencing from a single source. With four integrated power supply channels and the ability to monitor fault conditions and quickly drive power down to a safe level, this power IC is ideal for industrial applications such as solar inverter, automation, and embedded systems.

The LT4320MPMSE#PBF operates over a range of input voltages from 4.5 V to 36 V and has reverse leakages below 1 µA. It has four channels that are independently configurable with output voltages up to 28 V, adjustable current limiting, over-voltage protection, and over-temperature shutoff. The LT4320MPMSE#PBF can supply loads up to 65 A and can be paralleled for current combining.

The controller’s built-in Ideal Diode feature provides efficient ORing control for dual-voltage systems, eliminating costly external diodes. The ORing connection can be established in microseconds, improving system efficiency and saving space. The controller monitors two external remote sense lines to accurately measure the load current and protect against over-current conditions. The Ideal Diode has current limit and over-temperature shutoff features to protect the load when the power supply is failing or overloaded.

Integrated fault protection on each channel includes over-voltage protection (OVP), short circuit protection (SCP), and under-voltage lockout (UVLO). The fault management system provides time delay for fault clearance and user-programmable fault response. The controller also includes an onboard EEPROM for storing the user’s configuration and settings.
