It operates with a wide supply range of 4.5 to 16 volts and a wide temperature range of –40°C to +85°C.The active filter section contains a high-performance active filter with two components, a voltage-controlled amplifier (VCA) and a passive filter. The VCA provides variable gain, accepted as either a variable gain amplifier (VGA) or a low-noise amplifier (LNA). The VGA provides a wide range of gain versus frequency characteristics, which can be used for a variety of filter types, such as lowpass, highpass, and bandpass. The LNA is specifically designed for low-noise applications, providing high linearity and good common-mode rejection.The passive filter is a low-frequency, analog, Butterworth filter with a nominal -3 dB corner frequency of 2 kHz. It provides excellent rejection of any power-line interference and integrates a high-frequency distortion cancellation circuit. Its active filter section allows for wide tolerance ranges, enabling a single filter to cover a number of different applications with different performance criteria.In addition to its low-noise and wide-bandwidth filter section, the device also provides a high-performance over-voltage protection feature, which is used to protect the input stage from potential over-voltage or electrical transients.
