Overview

The LTC2401CMS#TRPBF is a monolithic, low-power, CMOS integrating converter SOC containing 16 converters and four MUX with rail-to-rail input range. The converter offers 0.25uV accuracy at a 15 LSb differential nonlinearity. Its performance makes it suitable for numerous applications such as portable instrumentation.

The LTC2401CMS#TRPBF offers a maximum conversion rate of 80MHz. Its power consumption is low - 1.8mW with an I2C interface @3.3V and 0.1uW in POWER-DOWN mode. All required power is provided through the VDD and VDDA pins.

Working Principle

To convert an analog voltage into digital data, the LTC2401CMS#TRPBF analog to digital converter utilizes the delta-sigma conversion technique. It works by first amplifying the input signal and then comparing it to a reference voltage. The reference voltage is fed into a 1-bit comparator whose output is fed into a 1-bit Delta-Sigma modulator. The chip also comes with Internal Coarse Reference Selection feature, allowing the selection of an external, fixed, or internal reference for Voltage Offset Adjustment, to provide compensation for any gain and offset errors caused by the amplifier, or any other non-linearities.
