LTC2404CG#PBF is a 24-bit SAR Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) designed for low noise, wide dynamic range, and superior AC and DC performance. LTC2404CG#PBF has a high sample rate, low power consumption, wide power supply range and low cost. It is widely used in the field of data acquisition. With the help of the low-noise charge distribution architecture and latest lithography technology, the LTC2404CG#PBF achieves superior linearity andSNR performance.
The most striking feature of LTC2404CG#PBF is its low power consumption. With the help of innovative power management techniques, the power consumption of the LTC2404CG#PBF can be reduced to 2.65mW in power down condition and75mW when the conversion rate is 6ksps. It operates on variable power supply from2.7V to 5.5V. This makes the LTC2404CG#PBF a good fit for battery-operated applications in data collection and data acquisition applications.
The application areas of LTC2404CG#PBF include temperature, displacement and motion monitoring, factory automation, load cell and other sensor measurements, strain gauge inputs, analog pulse-width and pulse-position modulation, etc. It is specially designed to perform with high accuracy in critical analog front end applications，where range and resolution is of utmost importance. The LTC2404CG#PBF samples the input voltage in a successive approximationsregister (SAR) approach and delivers 24-bit data words with conversion times as low as 16µs. The differential/pseudo-differential input range of the LTC2404CG#PBF is 0V to 5V on single-ended or ±5V on differential mode. The LTC2404CG#PBF has an integrated overrange (OVR) capacitor and reference to eliminate manual trimming of the part. The OVR capacitor simply charges to ground and is discharged through an integrated switch.
The LTC2404CG#PBF offers multiple I/O interfaces, including a high-speed 3-wire SPI interface. This interface allows up to 8.3M samples per second for the 3-pin version and up to 11.3M samples per second for the 4-pin version, with no need for additional system resources. The LTC2404CG#PBF supports both parallel and serial operating modes, and can be operated up to 10MHz SPI clock rate.
