The LTC2470IMS#PBF ADC operates on the principle of Indirect Increment (IIR) filter. On application of excitation, the signal is taken through a demodulator and post-gain amplifier connected to the converter, producing a signal gain of 107dB. On applying a voltage or current input to the ADC, a signal is produced by a low-noise differential input stage at the amplifier input referred to as the scaling block. This signal is then sent to a correlator where its information is compared to the reference voltage and a conversion cycle initiated. The ADC converts each successive bit in the data rate set to produce an 18-bit output. The conversion rate of the LTC2470IMS#PBF is programmed to any frequency between 0.14Hz and 800Ksps.
The LTC2470IMS#PBF is a sigma-delta ADC that works on the principle of successive approximation. This method has a sampling phase and an updating phase. In the sampling phase, the signal is filtered and measured at each clock cycle and compared to a specified reference voltage.
