The LTC2656CIFE-L16#PBF is a family of precision rail-to-rail, high voltage 16-bit digital-to-analog converters (DACs) that feature the industry\'s highest linearity performance. The LTC2656CIFE-L16#PBF series consists of two DACs in 8-lead MSOP packages. It is designed to operate from 2.7V to 5.5V as single supply with 9 internal reference options, including a 2.048V Vref. It also offers I2C and SPI for easy, low-cost DAC to system interface.The LTC2656CIFE-L16#PBF series utilizes a unique digital architecture that ensures accurate 16-bit performance while still providing exceptional speed — up to 29µs full-scale output settling time. It also offers a low-power shutdown feature that can reduce power consumption while inactive.The LTC2656CIFE-L16#PBF series is ideal for applications that require high resolution and accuracy, such as process control, thermometry, data acquisition, temperature compensation, motor control and piezo transducer drive. it offers excellent linearity and accuracy, with a guaranteed monotonic INL of 0.005%, and a guaranteed DNL of 0.002%. Its ±0.05% initial accuracy assures excellent write-ability and consistency from part-to-part and over life.To ensure that each part provides accurate voltage output, the LTC2656CIFE-L16#PBF is factory programmable to be site-specifically calibrated at various Code Words. A typical example is the LTC2656CIFE-L16#PBF, which is factory programmed to a unique Code Word, using an on-chip precision band-gap reference. The device will typically maintain this calibration and accuracy as long as the specified power supply and environmental conditions are maintained.The LTC2656CIFE-L16#PBF offers maximum flexibility with its innovative Register Access Architecture™. Each device in the series stores both internal DAC registers and command registers. The DAC registers hold two 16-bit data words, and the eight command registers, programme the conversion mode and structure. This allows the user to dynamically program the DAC, making the device suitable for applications with multiple and changing requirements.The LTC2656CIFE-L16#PBF also features a Programmable Output Polarity™ option to program the DAC outputs to operate in either bipolar or unipolar modes, depending upon user needs. It also offers selectable power-on reset value and master reset functions which, when enabled, initialise all DAC registers to a known state, preventing any code unpredictability during device power up.The LTC2656CIFE-L16#PBF is also available with I2C and SPI interfaces, providing a simple and low-cost assembly to interface the DAC to system. It has a built-in output latch feature, allowing each data word to be held without reprogramming the DAC.The LTC2656CIFE-L16#PBF series delivers an unprecedented combination of performance, functionality and package size, making it ideally suited for high performance DAC applications. The LTC2656CIFE-L16#PBF series DACs are ideal for controlling, measuring, or changing electrical signals in a range of industrial, medical, and consumer product applications.
