Overview of Functions
The LTC2960HTS8-4#TRPBF provides an integrated solution as an efficient PMIC - Supervisors, with multiple communication interfaces to connect with any system or device. It runs directly off of a 2.7–5.5V single supply, and delivers a three-channel over-voltage supervisor. It carries the single-ended voltage detection threshold from 4V to 32V, along with a delay selectable from 100μs to 4.2s. It also offers overcurrent protection for up to 80A for a maximum of 4 output channels.
The thermal protector feature of the LTC2960HTS8-4#TRPBF uses a temperature sensor and provides an over-temperature trip-point with a temperature range of -20°C to +175°C. It also features an open-drain port enable pin, which helps in condition-based monitoring.

Working Principle and Block Diagram
- The LTC2960HTS8-4#TRPBF features a wide input voltage range from 2.7V to 5.5V, and it is a three-channel overvoltage supervisor. The device has independent input and output clamps, an open-drain port enable pin and three LTC2960-HTS pins for the product identification.
The device block diagram contains the UVLO Inst lat-up, the UVLO Out lat-up, the Error Detection Logic, the Error Management Logic, 3-Channel OV-Latches, the Threshold Voltage Generator, the Bias Generator, the Enable Control logic and the Port Enable Logic. The Error Detection Logic senses overvoltage, overcurrent, undervoltage and overtemperature, and triggers the Error Management Logic to make decisions on the error occurrence.
The 3-Channel OV-Latches captures the error condition and the Threshold Voltage Generator provides the voltage reference for the error detection. The Bias Generator powers the error detection logic and the Enable Control Logic ensures smooth system operation. The Port Enable Logic guarantees a proper connection between the input and the output, and a low impedance connection between the input and the output for quick response.

The LTC2960HTS8-4#TRPBF is designed to provide surge protection and is suitable for a number of applications in industrial, automotive, avionics, appliances, or medical sectors. It can be used to protect motor drive circuits and set a port enable pin to detect current level.
