The LTC3621EMS8E-25#PBF integrated circuit is a DC-DC switching regulator which provides up to 3 A continuous output current with 2 to 6 V input voltage range. The device features programmable switching frequency up to 2.5 MHz, ±1% output voltage accuracy, 0.8 V reference voltage tolerance and excellent load transient response. It is specifically optimized for high current applications, such as LED drivers for LED display, LED lighting, and portable electronic devices, and computer, telecom and industrial applications.

The switching regulator is designed with an adaptive on-time control architecture that provides excellent line, load and temperature transient response. This architecture also enables high switching frequency operation without sacrificing load transient performance or efficiency.

The chip utilizes “COPMOS” technology, which is a combination of PMOS and CMOS. PMOS is used to switch the supply rail and CMOS is used to implement the control logic and generate the output voltage. The switching frequency is adjustable with a low frequency, low-speed external compensation network.
