PMIC, or power management integrated circuits, are complex collections of circuitry and components formed together into a complete, self-contained unit. These are used to manage and save energy on electronic devices. Voltage regulators, such as DC/DC switching regulators, are special types of PMICs responsible for converting a DC input voltage into a regulated output. Among such voltage regulators, the LTC3622EMSE-2#TRPBF is a single device that integrates an LDO and dual switching DC-DC step-down converters. The LTC3622EMSE-2#TRPBF has two main application fields: in wireless charging and battery management systems. In wireless charging systems, the LTC3622EMSE-2#TRPBF provides precisely regulated input power for wireless receivers. It can also be used to provide power isolation and allow voltage conversion from 5 V input to the 3.3 V output required for certain applications. Together with its fast transient response, overvoltage protection, thermal shutdown capability, and wide input voltage range, the LTC3622EMSE-2#TRPBF is a popular choice for battery management systems and wireless charging systems.The LTC3622EMSE-2#TRPBF consists of two main devices which control two different DC/DC buck converters: an LTC1865, which controls the output voltage from 0.3 V to 5 V, and a LT3799, which controls the output voltage from 0.8 V to 3.3 V. Two integrated MOSFETs provide up to 1.2 A and 3 A, respectively, of the total current output. The LT3799 buck regulator of the LTC3622EMSE-2#TRPBF features a pulse-width modulation control which provides fast response and good line and load regulation. It also features output overvoltage and undervoltage protection, over-temperature protection, and current limiting. The LTC1865 buck regulator includes a low dropout voltage key feature as well as an integrated voltage reference and over-current protection. The LTC1865 also uses a pulse-width modulation control, and can provide up to 5 A of current. The LTC3622EMSE-2#TRPBF is a very flexible, reliable and efficient solution for providing multiple output voltages from a single, 3.3 V or 5 V input. It can control two buck converters from 0.3 V to 5 V and 0.8 V to 3.3 V, and is suitable for applications such as wireless charging, battery management systems, and other power management applications. It is very power efficient and reliable and can deliver up to 5 A of total output current.
