The Linear Technology Corporation (LTC) LTC3880IUJ#PBF is a high efficiency buck or boost PWM controller which can be used for an adjustable or fixed DC/DC buck or boost converter applications. Particularly well suited for low noise analog and digital power supplies, the device features adjustable dead time, a two-pulse burst mode for light-load efficiency, and comprehensive protection features. The LTC3880IUJ#PBF is specifically designed for high performance and efficiency across multiple topologies. Utilizing a voltage mode architecture, the device can quickly respond to changing load conditions.The LTC3880IUJ#PBF has three operating modes – voltage mode, current mode, and pulse frequency modulation (PFM) mode. In addition, the PFM mode provides burst mode operation in which the device will automatically reduce the frequency to reduce power losses in light-load conditions.
