LTC3636IUFD#PBF Application Field and Working Principle
The LTC3636IUFD#PBF is part of a comprehensive baseline voltage regulator portfolio developed by Linear Technology Corporation, part of Analog Devices Inc. The LTC3636IUFD#PBF is a simple high frequency, step-down power converter suitable for a variety of applications such as buck converters, point-of-load regulators and battery chargers. It has a wide input voltage range from 4.5 V to 36 V and can deliver up to 800 mA continuous output current with a fast transient response, low quiescent current and an efficient, low-profile (30 mm) package size.
The LTC3636IUFD#PBF features an integrated 1.2 V internal reference which can be adjusted over a wide 1.5 V to 5.5 V range. It allows the user to set the output voltage of the converter to some desired value within the range, and the output voltage is then maintained in spite of the variations in input voltage or load. It also features Burst Mode operation and a PWM feature control with an adjustable switch frequency. This allows the integrated inductor to store energy more efficiently to deliver higher power and also reduce ripple of output voltage.
As a high frequency, step-down (buck) power converter, the LTC3636IUFD#PBF serves as a DC-to-DC converter, providing a regulated output voltage which is lower than the input voltage.
