In voltage mode control, the output voltage is regulated by controlling the duty cycle of the power MOSFET switch. The device operates with a regulated input voltage from 3.5V to 28V, providing up to 15A of continuous output current. The LTC3875EUH#PBF features an adjustable switching frequency up to 750kHz, allowing the user to optimize efficiency and minimize board space. The device also features a programmable soft start to reduce in-rush current.The LTC3875EUH#PBF incorporates a variety of safety and protection features to ensure reliable operation, including Undervoltage Lockout (UVLO), OTP thermal protection with over 103°C shutdown, as well as Crossconduction and Short Circuit Protection. A comprehensive suite of fault protection features and adjustable protection thresholds are provided. Furthermore, the Fault Signal Output (FSO) and Shutdown input (SD) pins of the LTC3875EUH#PBF can be used to monitor the power conversion stage and cut off the external power MOSFET when an overcurrent, overtemperature, or undervoltage condition is detected.The LTC3875EUH#PBF is an ideal power conversion solution for a variety of applications, such as battery powered instruments and modems, as well as computer, telecom and datacom systems. The device’s accurate voltage control and protection features, along with its adjustable frequency, allow for maximum flexibility and reliability in the design process.In order to use the LTC3875EUH#PBF, an external power MOSFET, gate driver and compensation circuitry must be included in the design.
