The LTC4301LCMS8#PBF is a precision, bidirectional signal and power locator IC with path tracking characteristics, which provides both signal buffer and ESD protection functions. It is designed to improve bidirectional signal performance over long paths in industrial processes, and it can suppress noise and interference generated by EMI and for high resolution and wide bandwidth operations. The LTC4301LCMS8#PBF is the latest addition to the market leading high channel count, low profile, precision I/O series and is the ideal choice for high performance power delivery applications.Originally developed to isolate digital signals when routing in industrial processes, the LTC4301LCMS8#PBF has become the industry standard solution for stable, reliable and accurate signal routing. Its superior performance has been proven to eliminate isolation and switching noise, as well as reduce path delay, without sacrificing power or communication signals. The LTC4301LCMS8#PBF offers exceptional bidirectional signal performance over long paths and is designed to buffer and isolate low voltage, wide bandwidth digital signals up to 1.2V and up to 300MHz. It also provides ESD protection up to 8kV and is extremely power efficient, consuming less than 10µA of current.The main application fields for the LTC4301LCMS8#PBF include high speed serial data transmission and routing, industrial process control, motor control and communication networks, large scale computing systems, and sophisticated unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) systems. In addition to enhancing signal reliability, the LTC4301LCMS8#PBF also provides greater flexibility and dynamic response to path tracking operations.The working principle of the LTC4301LCMS8#PBF is comparatively simple. It works by “repeater” the incoming signals, amplifying, buffering and attenuating them to maintain the same amplitude and waveform as the original signal. This buffering effect enables the LTC4301LCMS8#PBF to extend the range of application and provide greater flexibility in its use. In operation, it consists of two complementary power buffer stages, each of which has its own voltage regulator that can provide a range of voltages up to 16V. These power supplies are able to hold each power line independently in order to provide the best possible signal quality over each path. The two power buffer stages operate in tandem to amplify and buffer the signals, allowing the LTC4301LCMS8#PBF to accept a wide range of input frequencies and attenuate the signals to maintain the same waveform. The LTC4301LCMS8#PBF also includes ESD protection up to 8kV and features an adjustable output drive current to ensure proper impedance matching for the application environment. In addition, the LTC4301LCMS8#PBF also features an adjustable prop delay for the phase shift network, which is able to ensure proper phase matching between the input and the output signals. This feature is especially useful in applications where the incoming signals have a drastically different arrival time. The low current consumption and sophisticated design of the LTC4301LCMS8#PBF make it an ideal choice for industrial applications requiring reliable signal and power routing solutions.
