In many applications, the LTC692IS8#PBF converts an input voltage into a regulated output voltage that is used to power other circuits and components. The LTC692IS8#PBF is designed to provide over-voltage protection, voltage monitoring, over-temperature protection, and current limiting for a variety of components and systems. This low-power shutdown mode reduces the device’s overall power consumption by reducing the current consumption of the voltage monitoring circuit when the main supply voltage is stable. The shutdown mode can be enabled by driving the LTC692IS8#PBF output pin low for at least 10µs.The LTC692IS8#PBF DC/DC linear regulator works by taking in a DC voltage and regulating the voltage through a series of capacitors, resistors and integrated circuits. An input regulator is used to convert a variable DC voltage into a fixed regulated output. The input and output voltages are measured with a voltage reference and comparator and then regulated by a feedback loop.The feedback loop adjusts the output voltage using a series of feedback signals and a control switch. The switch is commanded depending on the voltage difference between the reference voltage and the output voltage. When the voltage difference is too high, the output voltage is lowered. When the voltage difference is too low, the output voltage is increased.The LTC692IS8#PBF voltage supervisor plays an important role in modern power management systems. It is used to provide overvoltage detection, low-power shutdowns, temperature protection and current limiting. The device is well-suited for use in automotive, industrial and consumer products.
