The LTC6992IS6-1#TRPBF is a Low-Power CMOS Programmable Timer that is suitable for use in permanent or long-duration battery-powered portable applications. Working Principle

The LTC6992IS6-1#TRPBF is a programmable timer with an on-chip voltage controlled oscillator (VCO). The VCO output frequency is modulated by an 8-bit configuration register. The configuration register could be programmed to generate any frequency from 1.25Hz up to 15MHz. The output frequency of the device is further divided by an internal divider chain to generate a 2-bit output for the application. The 8-bit configurable divider chain can be configured to generate duty cycles with any resolution between 400ms and 8s in fine steps of 0.3%. This can be useful in applications requiring precise frequency and duty cycle settings.

The timer also provides two clock synchronization modes, continuous running mode and average mode.
