When using a resistor, it is connected to the RGAU terminal and allows for a wide programming range of 0.1KΩ to 10MΩ, with the frequency determined by the equation ​F = 1/[1.45(C1 + K1R)]​, where K1 is 1.2, R is the value of the resistor and C1 is 1.45pF, which is the nominal value of the internal capacitor. A reference voltage can also be applied to the VCO terminal to program the frequency, with a maximum voltage of 1.25V.

The LTC6993CS6-1#TRPBF also features an adjustable deadtime feature, making it suitable for applications such as LED dimmer controls, motor RPM controllers, frequency divider applications, timers, alarms and beepers. The deadtime can be programmed using the DT pin, with a range from 0.1ms to 2s, and a minimum resolution of 0.01%.
