The LTM8040EV#PBF is a highly integrated buck converter with adjustable current regulation. It includes an internal high-side P-FET, low-side N-FET, error amplifier, current sensing circuit, and high speed oscillator. The integrated FETs have a very low on-resistance of 12mΩ and a combined shunt and body diode reverse current blocking to ensure high efficiency in the wide input voltage range. The internal oscillator can run at frequencies up to 1MHz, allowing for fast transient response and wide operating temperature range.

The LTM8040EV#PBF operates in PWM mode for LED current regulation. It has an adjustable peak LED current that can be programmed with a single external resistor. The LED current can be set from 500mA to 2.2A. When enabled, the over-temperature protection automatically reduces the LED current to reduce thermal stress on the system when the junction temperature reaches a programmed value.

The LTM8040EV#PBF offers excellent performance with a wide input voltage range of 3.2V to 32V. It provides robust protection features such as over-current protection, over-temperature protection, and short-circuit protection.
