The very first step of the LW020A\'s working process is to convert the input voltage from 36 to 75V into a stable DC voltage of 12V. The dynamic self-adjustment of the output voltage is done by the controller IC based on the type of termination value requested.

The second step of the LW020A\'s working principle is the PWM control scheme. This method uses pulse width modulation to vary the output voltage from the unit by controlling the energizing time of the inductor. The regulation loop is connected to the output of the power module. When the predetermined value of the output voltage is exceeded, the PWM signal is reduced for a shorter energizing time of the inductor, thus reducing the output voltage. Conversely, when the output voltage falls lower than the predetermined value, the PWM signal is increased for a longer energizing time, thus bringing up the output voltage.

The small size of the LW020A is achieved by eliminating any power losses resulted from the PCB board design. The device is accompanied by a built-in heatsink and power MOSFETs, thus improving the power conversion and the durability of the unit.
