The multiplexer topologies are selected through two select lines, which are common to all channels.
The LX256EV-35FN484C provides 8:8 differential (or 16:16 single ended) signal switching for data acquisition and switching applications. The device switches signals in both directions and in either polarity, providing a fully symmetric signal path. Instead of using a switch matrix solution which requires extra logic devices, the LX256EV-35FN484C can be configured to directly transmit signal paths within the device itself. This makes the solutions smaller, simpler and provides better performance in signal switching timing compared to switch matrix solutions.
The LX256EV-35FN484C works by connecting two electrodes of opposite polarity at the two ends of a single channel. The two electrodes are then connected to the switch’s output pair via two select lines – allowing the signal to flow between the two ends. When the select lines are off, the channel is disconnected and the signal cannot flow between the electrodes. When the select lines are on, the signal will flow from the input to the output path.
