In addition, a metal core printed circuit board (MPCB) is placed beneath the SiO2 substrate to provide electrical connections for the LEDs.The metal core printed circuit board (MPCB) acts as an electrical path to transfer any generated current. The aluminum heat sink then dissipates any heat generated by the LEDs. The thermal and electrical conduction occurs when the module is turned on. When a voltage is applied across the terminals of the module, the LEDs draw current which heats up the aluminum heat sink. This heats up the SiO2 substrate which in turn causes the electrons to jump across the aluminum contacts and light up, thus generating light.As a result, the LXK8-PW50-0016 LED COB emits a crisp and consistent white light that is suitable for a wide range of lighting applications.
