The M39003/01-2274/HSD is a group of hermetically sealed tantalum capacitors, which can be used in the military and avionic applications, as well as a wide range of industrial and commercial applications. They provide high temperature performance, very low leakages and a rugged mechanical construction. These tantalum capacitors feature a high-grade wet tantalum anode with an anode-to-cathode leakage of less than 20 microamperes. The capacitor\'s design also offers superior temperature cycling characteristics, with an operating temperature range of -55°C up to +125°C.The working principle of M39003/01-2274/HSD is based on the electrochemical behavior of the tantalum anode and its associated electrolyte. The anode\'s behavior is studied in order to understand the charge-discharge profile that is observed when the capacitor is in use. When voltage is applied to the capacitor, two electrodes, the anode and the cathode, form an electrical connection allowing electrons to flow through a thin electrolyte layer. As the electrons move through the electrolyte layer, a reaction takes place that creates charge carriers, such as hydroxides, ions and free electrons. Through this reaction, the capacitor stores energy and also creates a capacitance and a voltage across the terminals of the device.When the capacitor is discharged, the charge carriers flow back from the anode to the cathode and transfer their stored energy back to the capacitor. This process is relatively rapid and provides a short discharge time.
