Tantalum capacitors, also known as tantalum electrolytic capacitors, are electrolytic capacitors which use tantalum metal for the anode electrode. The tantalum capacitors have superior frequency characteristics and are popularly employed in many different areas of electronics, especially in high-end audio and video, personal communication devices, medical electronics and automotive electronics.
