Tantalum Capacitors

Tantalum capacitors are a type of electrolytic capacitor, a component used in electrical circuits as energy storage. Capacitors store energy in an electric field between two conductive electrodes separated by an insulating material called the dielectric layer. Tantalum capacitors use tantalum metal for the two electrodes and an oxide compound as the dielectric layer, making them a type of electrolytic capacitor.
