Tantalum capacitors are among the most common types of electrolytic capacitors and one of the least expensive and commonly used power electronic components. M39003/01-5289H is a high quality, low cost Tantalum capacitor that is rated for up to 10V, 20V, and 50V. It is known for its high temperature stability, reliability, and its low failure rate.

The M39003/01-5289H’s construction is relatively simple. It consists of two layers; an anode and a cathode, which are separated by an oxide dielectric material. The cathode is made from a tantalum wire and is coated with a layer of manganese dioxide or a manganese residue to form the dielectric. The anode is usually comprised of a sintered tantalum powders.

Because the dielectric material does not contain any air, the device can handle higher voltages. The dielectric material also ensures that no leakage of current is experienced when the capacitor is in its off-state.
