Tantalum capacitors are passive electronic components which store electrical energy. They are made of a tantalum metal powder pressed and sintered into a pellet shape. The anode of the capacitor is the fluorinated conductive polymer, while the cathode is a metal oxide formed on the surface of the pellet. As the capacitance of tantalum capacitors can reach as high as 5000 μF and they can withstand higher working voltages than other types of regular capacitors, they are widely used in various industrial applications. The M39003/01-6180 is a type of tantalum capacitor designed for industrial applications.
The M39003/01-6180 is a large-sized, surface-mount, her metically-sealed Non-Solid Tantalum Capacitor with a cathode terminal anode. It has a wide variety of application fields, from computing and audio systems to automotive applications. Its working principle is based on the Ta2O5 dielectric material, which offers exceptionally high capacitance values. The dielectric material provides a high capacitance to volume ratio, enabling smaller devices with higher capacitance to be used, saving space and cost. The device also includes an internal electrochemical series ESR (equivalent series resistance) sense resistor which measures the applied voltage and allows for a more stable and precise output voltage.
