This actually creates an electrostatic field between both plates that stops fans and maintains a certain charge on each plate. Typically this type of capacitor has a predictable steady state performance between -55 °C and +125 °C and has an extremely high ripple current performance up to 1.3 A. It also has a very low ESR rating and can withstand a self-resonant frequency of up to 850 MHz.
